Getting Started

Who should I call to get started?

Our admissions team is happy to help you get started. Call Ashland Post Acute to discuss your care needs, verify insurance, schedule a tour, or learn more about our services. We’ll guide you through each step of the admissions process and answer any questions along the way.

What articles of clothing should we bring?

We recommend bringing at least one week’s worth of comfortable clothing, including pajamas, undergarments, and supportive shoes with non-slip soles. Be sure to label personal clothing whenever possible to help keep track of your belongings during your stay.

Can I bring personal belongings?

Yes! We encourage you to bring meaningful personal items such as family photos, books, blankets, small decorations, or other keepsakes to help make your room feel comfortable and familiar. Please avoid bringing valuables or large amounts of cash.

Insurance & Billing

What insurances do you accept?

Ashland Post Acute accepts Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, and many commercial insurance plans. Because coverage varies by provider, our admissions team is happy to review your benefits, answer billing questions, and help you understand your available options before admission.

How do I pay my bill?

Our business office can assist you with billing questions and payment options throughout your stay. If you have questions about your account, insurance coverage, or payment arrangements, our team is available to provide guidance and support.

Healthcare Services

Does Ashland Post Acute offer rehabilitation?

Yes. Our rehabilitation team provides personalized physical, occupational, and speech therapy designed to help patients recover after illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization. Every therapy plan is tailored to support your individual goals and promote a safe return home whenever possible.

When will the doctor see me?

Following admission, a physician or qualified medical provider will evaluate you based on your clinical needs and regulatory guidelines. Your nursing team works closely with your healthcare providers to ensure you receive timely medical attention and ongoing communication throughout your stay.

How often will I have therapy?

Most patients begin therapy shortly after admission, depending on their condition and physician’s orders. Therapy is individualized and may be provided several times each week based on your treatment plan, progress, and rehabilitation goals.

Do I need to bring my medications?

In most cases, no. Your medications will be ordered through our pharmacy and managed by our clinical team during your stay. If there are any medications or medical supplies you should bring, our admissions staff will let you know before your arrival.

How long is a typical stay?

Every patient’s recovery is different. Your length of stay depends on your medical condition, rehabilitation progress, and physician recommendations. Our interdisciplinary care team regularly reviews your progress and works with you to prepare for a safe discharge.
